For the last few weeks 3rd and 4th class have been exploring space, learning all they could about the other planets, the moon, the sun and some of the greatest astronauts like Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. As part of their work they completed their first projects of the year and their work was outstanding!
Take a look at some of the projects below!

Mrs. Quigley’s first and second class finished their study of trees, leaves and autumn activities by making their own Autumnal arrangements last week!
Using leaves, flowers, fruit, oasis, and wire the children brought in some fabulous foliage from their own gardens and tastefully created their own individual designs.

Another busy week has passed and we now looking forward to our Halloween holidays. Ms Furlong was telling us about the barn owl this week and we really enjoyed learning about this beautiful creature. We also heard about fireworks this week and that there will be a huge display in Wexford soon. We learned that they were invented in China….That is very far away. We made beautiful firework pictures and we got paint and glitter everywhere. Poooooor Ms Furlong………..
We were lucky enough this week to play host to some of the players from the Adamstown team who played Oylegate in the county final in Wexford Park on Saturday 15th of October. Expectation was high in school with the children donning the black and gold of Adamstown in eager anticipation for the match. Good Luck cards were presented and the players were quizzed on their healthy eating habits, training routines and their matches to date. The classes even had the chance to sing Irish Soldier Laddie for the players, adding in an ingenuous and original final verse with the Adamstown team at the heart. We want to thank the generosity of the team for taking the time out of their day to come and visit us.
Third and fourth class have been very busy lately learning all about beat and rhythm in school with Miss Byrne. She has been working with the class over the last month and this is just a taste of the great work they explored during that time.
Beat and rhythm in music and body percussion through a German folk dance in PE allowed the class to explore music making with their bodies. They had great fun as you can see from some of the videos below!
Thanks again to Miss Byrne for the wonderful work she did with us while teaching in Raheen N.S.
