Today, all of us here in Junior infants received our certificates and toothbrushes for completing a challenge that Ms Furlong gave to us. We had to make sure to brush our teeth every morning and every evening for 4 weeks and for evermore. Here are some of our pictures showing off our pearly whites and our certificates……….
We would like to wish all the lovely Mammies a wonderful mother’s day. We hope you relax and enjoy your day. From all the Junior Infants.
We had a great time planting our seeds and getting our hands dirty so that we would have our flowers ready for Mother’s day. So hopefully the dads will get planting the flowers as a treat.
This year, to mark the anniversary of the 1916 Rising, the students and staff of Raheen N.S. held a short commemoration and flag raising ceremony at the school on Thursday 16th of March.
It was a cold, but dry morning as the school came together, singing favourite songs such as Irish Soldier Laddie and Ireland’s call. Students from 1st to 6th class read prayers of the faithful. We reacquainted ourselves with our own proclamation, composed last year by 5th and 6th class. Tomás, Jake, David and Mark read the proclamation to the rest of the school, reminding us of what we aim to achieve in Ireland’s future. Following this, Caoimhe, the school’s eldest student, and Xavier, the school’s youngest student, then raised the Irish tricolour. The students sang Amhráin na bhFiann, and Aishling recited ‘Soliloquy’ by Francis Ledwidge, before the ceremony concluded with a boistorous and rousing version of the Haka as Gaeilge. It was a wonderful morning, with all the school sporting green for St. Patrick’s Day.

We have completed the first round of our get moving get fit challenge.
We are in the middle of our daily tooth brushing challenge.
We are attempting to complete our one apple a day challenge.
Teacher is really keeping us on our toes and we would encourage everyone to get moving, eat healthy food and stay healthy this spring.
Well done to all the infants who were awarded the Gaeilgeoir an Lae this week for being ag caint as Gaeilge.
